Triple-Fold Cards!! Blast From the Past!!

Happy Valentine's Day! Our Grandma found tri-fold cards for my kids! I used to get these from my grandma and grandpa and my parents when I was little. We always LOVED triple fold cards. They made the envelopes fatter, they were always a fun surprise and the pictures were always super cute. It was a good way to hide money in the cards too!

So this morning, my kids enjoyed the same treats when they got up and found tri-fold Valentine cards on their breakfast table. The girls had sparkles and glitter and could not have been happier.

And then Oscar came along and found his train tri-fold! He has been asking for a triple card for a long time after hearing me tell wonderful stories of the ones I loved as a kid. Grandma produced for him after hunting and hunting and hunting. Someone loves these kids!

And now for the math question of the day......how to pay tithing on a $2 US dollars?? We can handle the math when the money is what we are used to but this American stuff has us pretty well confused. Never fear, the kids want to make sure everyone knows not to worry to much about that. They are willing to figure it out anytime they are gifted with money in any currency!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Playing Together -- My Best Times!

These two love to create and this morning they worked on this clown made of little color plastic pieces. Last night they made a teddy bear. This is an old toy that keeps enjoying revisits from the kids and I really do enjoy watching them work together even if it only lasts for a few minutes. I can look at the pictures a million times to prove that it really does happen!

"Absolutely, Yes!"

22 years ago today he asked!
22 years ago that same day I said "yes".
We should always be proud of the good decisions we make.
I made my VERY best decision that day and have benefitted from it ever since!

Love Stuff

When our Dad and his girls returned from their outing at the salon, they came carrying a special gift for me. Thank you, Greg, for always making sure the kids know you love me! I think it is very cool how good balloons make me feel. Saying they are "light and airy" sounds ridiculous but they simply brighten a room and this one made me very happy. Thank you, my love.

Afternoon Out With Dad!!

These two got a surprise after school today - a quick phone call from Dad, a quick pick up on the street outside of the school gate, a quick removal of school uniform tights and they found themselves enjoying a pedicure while Dad got a haircut!!

Not a bad way for a Dad to turn a real regular Wednesday into something special - great idea!! The girls aren't allowed to wear nail polish at school (on their fingers) so the option is often toes that no one can see except those of us at home. Thanks, Daddy!!

Annual Indian Food Fest With Benjamin

And, finally, Benjamin's day is just about finished but not before he enjoys his Indian food favorites at his private dinner with Mom and Dad. We always look forward to our time with each of the kids when all the choices are their own and they get all the leftovers for themselves. To a very fine 15 yr old, we wish you a magnificent year ahead - we love you very, very much!

Apple Crisp By Request - We Need Grandma

The road to apple crisp starts with the magic apple peeler and slicer machine. Benjamin can be seen here displaying the massive strings of apple skin produced by our tremendous apparatus.

Look at that pile of skins! Good sisters helping clean away the mess after everyone got turns grinding at the peeler.

The apples sliced, peeled and ready for the topping - seriously, this is one recipe that just doesn't turn out unless the maker-of-the-feast (original) is on hand. It just never turns out quite right but I keep trying anyway. Benjamin is so gracious to accept my attempts.

A little apple skin keeps the doctor away?? Or is it just too fun to throw away immediately?
Happy Mid-Day Birthday, Benjamin. Kitchen smells great!!
